In 2002, after years of working with large consulting firms, M. Andrew Allison started Allison Engineering, Inc. with the simple promise of providing clients with expert and reliable Civil Engineering service at a reasonable cost. During the following fourteen years, Allison Engineering, Inc. worked hard to develop and maintain its reputation as an affordable option for clients desiring the professional expertise of a large firm with the service level only smaller firms provide.

Commercial, Professional and Industrial Sites

The work of the firm has been focused primarily upon the design of small and medium size commercial, professional and industrial sites and subdivisions located within Manatee, Sarasota, and Hillsborough County. Over 90% of the work has been with continuing clients, including Architects, Contractors, Developers and municipal clients. Some of our continuing clients have worked with us since our inception.

The staff at Allison Engineering, Inc. is designed to provide a broad range of expertise to assist clients in developing their vision and achieving their goals. We fully understand the site development and regulatory process and are able to utilize our experience and expertise to assess the feasibility of a project while focusing on the best design approach. M. Andrew Allison will be the project manager in charge of meeting your needs as well the liaison between with the rest of the design/development team.

At Allison Engineering, Inc. we also pride ourselves on our ability to find and work with experts in their respective fields. For services not offered in-house, we can assist clients in locating professionals to assist them.

Plan Approvals

We will produce and process plan approvals at a reasonable cost, we will keep our clients informed and we will work on their behalf to develop their vision and realize their goals.

Mr. Allison is the Principle and Senior Project Manager of Allison Engineering. As such, he is responsible for project management and client development. Mr. Allison has over 15 years of experience in the land development field which includes extensive experience in roadway and infrastructure design. Mr. Allison specialized in feasibility studies; design and permitting of plans for sewer, water, streets, drainage, and grading for institutional, municipal, residential, and commercial projects. 

Commercial Projects:

  • Pines Too Industrial Park – Manatee County, Florida: Project Designer – Client Development, Design and Permitting for a 340,000SF-40acre industrial park.
  • Value Place Bradenton – City of Bradenton, Florida: Project Designer – Project Manager overseeing design and permitting. Acquired Special Use Permit with the City of Bradenton.  
  • Memphis Road Industrial Park – City of Palmetto, Florida: Project Manager and Designer – Tasks included annexation of property from Manatee County to City of Palmetto. Annexation task included infrastructure impact analysis, comprehensive plan comparison and intergovernmental coordination. Design included site layout, drainage, grading water and sewer. Permitting included SWFWMD, HRS, DEP, NPDES, Fire, and City of Palmetto Site Plan.
  • Bollettieri/IMG – Manatee County, Florida: Project Designer – handled Manatee County, FDEP (Sanitary), Health Dept (Water) & SWFWMD permitting and site work design for various tennis academy site expansions and 47th Street West construction to serve an adjacent golf, tennis, soccer & baseball training facility site. 

Residential Subdivisions:

  • Olde Myakka Rural Subdivision– Manatee County, Florida: Project Designer – handled SWFWMD permitting and site work design for a 330 acre rural subdivision’s streets and stormwater facilities.
  • Raven Crest– Manatee County, Florida: Project Manager – oversaw permitting for Manatee County, FDEP (Sanitary), Health Dept (Water) & SWFWMD. Design included subdivision’s lots, streets, water, sewer (lift station) and stormwater facilities.
  • Rye Wilderness Estates, Phase I– Manatee County, Florida: Project Designer – handled Manatee County, FDEP (Sanitary), Health Dept (Water) & SWFWMD permitting and site work design for a multi phased subdivision’s lots, streets and stormwater facilities. Included the coordination with Florida Gas Transmission for several crossings of their two existing high pressure transmission gas mains which crossed the site.
  • Bradenton Village – Singletary – City of Bradenton, Florida: Project Designer – Project Manager for a multi-family affordable housing project. Tasks included coordination with City of Bradenton Public Works Department, City of Bradenton Housing Authority and Architects.

School Experience:

  • Bayshore High School Classroom Addition – Manatee County, Florida: Design included site layout, drainage, grading water and sewer. Permitting included SWFWMD, HRS, DEP, NPDES and Fire.
  • Samoset Elementary– Manatee County, Florida: Concept design included modification of existing parking, traffic circulation (bus loops and parent drop offs), and building addition.
